ENCORE Medical Education, LLC (referred to in this policy as “ENCORE” or as “we”, “our”, and “us”) maintains educational websites, meeting registration websites; and, organizes and/or licenses content for live educational activities.

If you are an attendee at (either virtually or live) at an Encore educational activity, you are asked to register online, or through a phone app. Encore uses your information for the planning and promotion of live and online educational activities, distribution of Certificates of Attendance or Participation, and delivery of CME credits.

If you register online through, QR code or phone app; or, if you visit one of our websites to browse, you will transfer certain personal data to Encore in the United States. In order to comply with international data privacy protection laws, Encore will explain in this privacy policy exactly how we use the personal data we collect from you.

What data do we collect?

As a part of the evaluation form, Encore collects your personal identification information, which may include your name, company or institution affiliation, address, and your email address. If you access our website directly, we may collect other data from you including data regarding your visit to our website, the content you viewed, the links you followed, and information about your browser, device, and IP address.

How do we collect your data?

You provide or initiate the collection of most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you voluntarily complete an evaluation or survey, provide feedback or make comments or ask questions through our website or via email, and use or view our website via your browser’s cookies. We may also receive your data indirectly from the company holding a medical education activity you attended. Providing your personal data directly to us is entirely voluntary, and there are no consequences from your failure or refusal to provide your data.

How will we use your data?

Encore collects your data so we can determine who has attended (either virtually or live) medical education activities. We use your data for the purposes of awarding Certificates of Participation and for the certification of continuing medical education credit. We also use your information and feedback to plan and improve future educational activities. We may contact you through your email address to give you more information on current and new educational activities organized or directed by Encore. We may use information obtained through cookies on our website to learn more about your browsing interests. We will not share your data with any other person or company for the purposes of their offering you their products or services.

How do we store your data?

Encore uses reasonable precautions, including appropriate technical, administrative, and physical procedures, designed to protect your personal data from loss, misuse, or alteration. If we contract with other companies to provide us with services, we will require them likewise to use reasonable safeguards to protect your personal data. However, we are not responsible for any breach of security or for the actions of these parties. Due to the design of the internet and other factors outside our control, we cannot guarantee that communications between you and our servers will be free from unauthorized access by third parties. Encore will not transfer your data to anyone outside of the United States other than Encore employees through their use for business purposes of the Encore email server.

We will keep the information you provide to us for a period not exceeding five (5) years. Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data by using technological methods designed to destroy the information permanently.
